its just where you start. try 2 which is more "realism" higher shift gives more stylized looked. Good for toons or anime. Start at 2 and if you want to change it work your way up till you get the output you want.
I just merged the loras into base wan. Super easy. Anyone could have done it. Suprisied it had not been done. Just finding a good balance in the strengths was time consuming. Comfy ui has built in nodes that let u do this.

its strange people don't have done it, there are at least 10.000 of merges in other models if people put the same effort for wan 2.1 we could see incredible results. more merges are needed... for sdxl some of the merges are using some of most complex and novel solutions i ever seen in wan 2.1 i only see the most basic merges
