Neona 12b's review - One of the best in its category for daily RP.
Okay, I've never written reviews here before, but let's be honest - your 12b model beats almost all other 12b models for me. Why almost? Because I haven't tried everything, but I won't be switching from your model. 6q gguf was used.
So, a quick review after using the model for RP (I didn't test for all the abilities, etc. I'm writing after using this model for daily roleplay):
Pros
- Sticks to character and personality.
Seriously. I'm tired of the fact that when I specified in 'personality', 'speech pattern' and 'speech examples' that this character is silent, he is not silent. He MUST be silent. With other models, after a few messages the character becomes not so silent. With Neona - silent. I got what I wanted.
Structured responses. A very big plus was noticed when I made a request like "Sat down on the couch to watch the news". News Anchor did not give out tons of text, but wrote good, beautiful paragraphs, adhering to the text format.
Good use of group characters. Again, in other models it was noticed that sometimes, during the initial messages, for example, "you are walking through the hall of the castle", they just throw all the characters that are written in the bot in one paragraph. Eat, as they say, from a shovel.
12b Neona does not have this (well, ONCE in a few days, I admit. But once among many, like in other models, does not count).
As for 'good use' - again, with the help of TV News, my characters were interviewed AND (!) there was interaction between them, for example, a police character caught a thief / or / a thief robbed another written character /.
A breath of fresh air when I see that the model uses characters between themselves.
- The lack of "Well, well, well" in EVERY new acquaintance. Seriously. I'm tired of models where even a well-written character simply begins the acquaintance with this "Well, well, well." Even regular random NPCs - 'well, well, well'. This model is much better with this. 'Well, well, well' is present, but in adequate quantities.
Almost with a big 'BUT' Cons. I use my own prompt and my own style of writing bots and 'conditions'. I admit the possibility that if I tinker with the prompt and make it specifically for Neona, the results will be better, but I'm too lazy to test this. For now, I'm more satisfied with the pros.
- Speaks for the User more often than other 12b models. In general, with a good setting of the RPG world, events and character development, the model will also take control of my character. Not by actions, but often adding some kind of replica. It's good that it does this in one paragraph, which makes it easy to edit. BUT (!) does not speak for me during dialogues, but speaks more to advance the plot.
How does it work? For example, I drove up to someone's mansion. I'm used to being given a description of this action, with a description of the mansion in a long, detailed response, and after that the Bot would wait for my further response. But for the sake of advancing the plot (I have one in the prompt, but, as I understand, it's a bit crooked for this model), my character starts a conversation with the guards. How can I avoid it? If I just indicated with the 'OOC:' command that I want a description of the mansion. Is this really a minus? No, but in rare cases it can irritate someone at first.
While writing, I also wanted to add one supposed minus, but I thought that this is normal for most models and is easily avoided by OOC:
We must remember that models (Especially 12b and below... Okay, 24b models and below.) still require guidance from the User. They don't know how to react to our wishes initially and we should slightly help them direct the development of the plot.
Overall - for me, Neona 12b is the best of its category for daily RP. Sticks to the character, gives moderately creative answers, writes comfortably (though sometimes not, but what model doesn't?) and uses what's written inside. What else do you need for RP? A good smart cookie.
