I agree that the recommended/trained dimensions is quite small in fact its a strange, it exists somewhere between SD and HD (I looked it up, doesn't fit into a standardized category), have you tried using up-scaling models during the intermediate steps(during generation)?
With 2x you get 1536x1536 which is HD.
Failing that you could attempt incrementally larger dimensions to see what it can handle, and combine that with upscaling.
